In 2023, the Iel te dit je t’aime / Zie says I love you project — initiated in 2017 — took a new turn. Previously developed using existing typefaces, it found a fresh direction with a dedicated type design. The scarf, along with two large-scale flags, was created with the Miaouw ! typeface, customised by Camille Circlude via Metaflop and enriched with the post-binary iel glyph.

You can still spot friends proudly wearing their scarves in the streets of Brussels, Paris, Rennes, and Marseille, where the piece circulated mostly through word of mouth and direct encounters.

This version of the project highlights the French neo-pronouns ol, al, ul, and eul, which move beyond the lingering binarity embedded in iel — a contraction of the French pronouns il and elle.
